And in the back of my brain I heard, “Would that make Gerard the redhead Prince Eric to Lyn-Z’s raven-haired Ariel?”

Except in the AU headcanon blossoming in my head, Prince Eric!Gerard is the one who makes the deal with the sea witch and Ariel!Lyn-Z is the one who saves his ass the second time around (after she saves him from drowning the first time, natch). Because I can’t ever see Lyn-Z as a damsel in distress ever. She’s too badass for that.
